I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
